BRIEF

Encourage the gifting of ghd for Christmas.

 

STRATEGY

Focus on a predominantly male market - synonymous with getting it wrong when Christmas gifting comes around. 

IDEA

We showed women that they could get what they really want this Christmas by giving a less-than-subtle clue to their partners -  'get the hint darling' - ghd.

 

EXECUTION

We playfully connected with women on their frustrations of past unwanted gifts using a variety of ATL and digital media. We urged them to prevent it happening this Christmas by visiting ghdhair.com to send a cheeky ‘anonymous’ hint to their other half. If the partner  took the bait they'd click through to purchase. We used media targeting on websites with a mainly male audience to directly give hints from ghd too. POS ran alongside this in premium retailers where ghd was being sold.
